“This is the issue: Is it a part of God’s gift of salvation, or is it in our own contribution to salvation? Is our salvation wholly of God or does it ultimately depend on something that we do for ourselves? Those who say the latter, that it ultimately depends on something we do for ourselves, thereby deny humanity’s utter helplessness in sin….in effect, it turned faith into a meritorious work, … denied the sovereignty of God in saving sinners,…………Until we humble ourselves and understand that no man is an island and that no man has an island of righteousness, that we are utterly dependent upon the unmixed grace of God for our salvation, we will not begin to rest upon grace and rejoice in the greatness of God’s sovereignty, and we will not be rid of the pagan influence of humanism that exalts and puts man at the center of religion.”

Christians (born again) believers would have to stand for judgment for the works we have done. “Judgment according to works is not merely an OT theme but is also prominent in the NT. Those who are in the book of life have performed works warranting inclusion, while those who are punished are those who have pursued and practiced evil. Such works are not the basis for being found in the book of life but constitute the necessary evidence of belonging to God.” – see link below Could I recommend you to read this article: https://www.crossway.org/articles/what-does-it-mean-to-be-judged-according-to-your-works-revelation-20/ ” “

2 Tim 2.19 reminds us that God knows who are his, and the fact that the names of the saved were written in the Lamb’s Book of Life makes me wonder why the righteous (the sheep on the right hand – Matt 25.34) have to be present at the final judgement scene; or do they? Romans 8.1: There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Jn 3.18: Those who believe in him are not judged (condemned).
Why are the righteous judged?
