True Worship Must Engage Emotions and Thought.

John Piper describes true worship as:
Worship must have heart and head. Worship must engage emotions and thought. Truth without emotion produces dead orthodoxy and a church full (or half-full) of artificial admirers (like people who write generic anniversary cards for a living). On the other hand, emotion without truth produces empty frenzy and cultivates shallow people who refuse the discipline of rigorous thought. But true worship comes from people who are deeply emotional and who love deep and sound doctrine. Strong affections for God rooted in truth are the bone and marrow of biblical worship.

Called Soldiers,
Thanks for commenting.
Worship is a matter of infinite importance for any worshiper, true worship comes from knowing God and worshiping God acceptably in spirit and in truth. Without getting or accepting the complete truth about God as revealed by the scriptures only mean a professed worshiper is not truly worshiping the God of the bible but a “god” of his or her own imagination.
No real Christians should be happy to continue in a state of being “Artificial Admirers” or “Empty frenzy and Shallow People”. True Worship Must Engage Emotions and Thought.

I was ready pounce on this particular topic, but as I read I couldn’t help but agree… True worshipers must worship the Father in spirit and in truth.
